In DT, class 7 are looking at making a gift box, just in time for Christmas! In our first lesson, we explored different kinds of gift boxes including those that had been carefully taken apart so that we could explore different nets. In our second lesson, we decided what the purpose of our gift box would be, who it is for and what we will put inside it once it is complete. We also decided whether we would make a cube or cuboid gift box. We then looked at different Christmas designs and decided on our own design. We then completed our designs on our planning sheet. In our next lesson, we looked at nets for a cube and cuboid, we cut these out and had a go at assembling them. We realised just how tricky this was! However, it was good practice before designing and creating our own gift boxes.
